Possibly one to sticky:

What classes does the guild currently need for the PvE adventures?
That way we can look for RP members that fit or make alt characters to level to that role.

I don't mind either way.

Just an idea ^^

There are currently no special classes that we need people to make alts as. We have loads of people levelling up with all kinds of classes and what we need at lvl 70 now can't really be solved with an alt as the situation will look very different when that alt is level 70. Smile

We have tanks, we have a few healers coming up and we have dps. I can't see anything lacking at higher levels at all so if you want to make another alt - make a class that you will enjoy playing and do it for your own sake! Very Happy

Alt making - yes

Recruiting - no. We are a rp guild, not a pve one.

We need warriors mages and priests at the moment. Possibly rogues too.

For Aran we need Warrior and/or Rogue, I am not sure for the rest. Also I agree with Udd, someone should lvl their warrior/rogue fast Razz

P.S. I don't want more mages (more gear for me XD) also we have pretty good caster dps. So I don't think we need more either at least for Kara

Warrior for Aran? O.o

Well rogues are the class we really lack atm. Although more warriors (prot/fury/slamming arms) and holy/shadow priests would add to our PvE progress as well.

I might consider bringing Wyrmskin in for the slamming arms role. That one friggin owns! And I have the gear also. ^^

On the other hand, I can't really think of any reason why Wyrmskin - a bloodthirsty bastard - would join a band of scholars IC.

We have cookies Very Happy

Anyways, Lother got a point casters ain't needed, i still remember the fight agains magic immune mobs with our full caster group >.< glad we had Bov as healer...

As agali said, we got LOADS leveling so go for whatever you want and play that. Rogues and warroirs are really the only i see a "need" for and it ain't a great need.

We have Andromus and Siyax as rogues, one of them at 70 and one of them at 68 or similar. We have Kapp and Harlin as warriors, one of them already well geared and protection specced and one of them at level 58 or something like that.

There's nothing to worry about - making an alt now doesn't solve anything until he or she is level 70 and that is in two months or something and we'll have a completely different need at that time.

Just so you know, characters can be levelled to 70 in roughly 4.5days if done properly. The only reason why I have never levelled that quickly is because I don't own a WoW compatible pc atm (using flatmate's)

So with guild boosting/guild runs/guild joint questing, characters can easily get from 1-70

Quite easily too. We need to focus on getting a group that can do Aran now.

There are a few things we need atm. This is not to cramp on anyones style or anything, but it is what we really NEED.

We need non-mana dependant interrupters. basically two dps'ers/tanks that can interrupt the designated, and which doesn't decrease their dps substansially. What would be nice would have to be either a Warrior+Warrior/Warrior+Rogue/Rogue+Rogue combo.Although this isn't a necessity, it helps in the long run when we're supposed to min/max to get down a boss. When we have it on farm, then we can start to improvise.

We need healers who aren't in a dps/heal specc, or just healing outside their specc (e.g. a elemental shaman who heals). While the latter is something that is good in emergencies, it isn't for a bossfight and raid in general. We need (top be quite frank) Cookiecutter healspeccs that maximises healing . This WILL help when facing a difficult fight.

And lastly, we need DPS'ers that aren't specced either for PvP, semi-PvP, or any form for PvP or half-arsed speccs. Yes i know some classes can do well enough with this kind of specc(mainly pvp), but we need to go all the way to maximise ourselves when facing an encounter that we have difficulties or are not able to complete at the moment. The halfarsed kind is pointlesslye using talentpoints in things you either never use, or can't use. I know the mage trees teh best, so i'll use these as an example(a couple or three from each):

From the arcane tree, we have Arcane Fortitude and Slow as the absolute most unecessary talents for a Raid/instance world. they seem fine enough when it comes to kiting, but in the said raid/instance they are utterly worthless. Slow doesn't work on bosses, and how ofter are you going to kite?. In the fire tree, we have playing with fire and Improved Fireward. Playing with fire increases your damage done AND taken. and in an encounter where you die, and are about that percentage away from getting a heal, ever percent counts. And improved Fireward speaks for itself -.-
In the frost tree, we have Shatter, improved Frostward and Frozen Core as the absolute biggest losers. For the same reasons as mentioned above.

This is what i feel we need. Might be that i'm mistaken, but this is my point of view. If there's anything i've missed or forgotten, let me know.

Morg I disagree with you on only a few points about the mage talents, Fros/Fire ward can be useful (especially if you are in Kara fighting Aran) also Frozen Core reduces dmg, so why isn't it useful? For the rest I agree Smile

Frozen Core reduces Fire and Frost damage. Only those two, so it's very specific. It's not worth to take imo. unless, of course, you're doing a 0/0/61 build and happen to ahve 3 talentpoints you don't know where to put.

Frost/fireward is situational. Yes, it is nice to have a certain chance to reflect a fire or frostspell, but it's not enough for me to warrant it as useful outside PvP. And when do you happen to use frostarmor? in PvP(The Frostward talent increases the armor worth in frostarmor, and gives a total of 20% reflect chance for frostspells (projectiles))

but those talents were only examples of things i found unecessary to use in a Raid/instance build Smile

Before we even consider trying out Aran again we need to farm, farm, farm up to Curator, gearing up as many guildies as possible.

I have to agree with Morgh. We didn't fail because of gear (Curator is gear check and we've downed it) we failed because of team set-up and people speccing... well... bad. If you need help with your talent builds, don't be afraid to use wowhead, thottbot or something similar class discussion place. Or you can even ask us if we're familiar with your class.

Problem is, you're really not that bad players. You just need to get those specs right for raiding if you wanna progress. Quite honestly we checked all of your talenting and we were seriously shocked by some of them. But there's nothing wrong with it if you care and are willing to better it.

I just have one question, not to be awkward and start arguements or anything, just for my own personal knowledge. I plan to stay a shadow priest, I've played a healer before and found it a tad boring (so yes the question of why a priest comes up, but I have my reasons) but classically a Shadow priest is a PVP orientated spec. Yes there are some PVE aspects to it, but the point still remains. Does this mean I stand no chance of ever going on a raid with the guild?

three words: Not-at-all
Ofcause you can join the raid now and then, just like everybody else, we still sometime have to find PuGs to get a group going, so i expect you will be most welcome, regardsless of specc.

I expect you are collecting healer gear just in case it will be our last resort Smile

There are two kinds of shadowspecc. One is of PvP, and one is for PvE(Although Disc/something is preferred in arenas nowadays). There is nothing wrong being shadowpriest in a raid. In fact, the ranged dps'ers/healers would love being in your group, as you are a mana-battery to them Razz
If you need any pointers for shadow PvE, let me know Smile

And i'm not saying we HAVE to specc the optimal specc, but if we're not, then just expect to wipe a lot on Aran in the near future ^_^

I don't know where you got that idea, Shadow Priest is clearly more PvE oriented than PvP in my eyes. (Shadow Priests have all the raid supporting spells other than healing). PvP priest is disc/holy as of now. So please, do come and charge our mana and hp up! .D
