| Before we start I must add that the compass shall be used only in these small novels where I shall eventually kill him. So no need to worry. Shag just does not learn.
This text shall introduce one of my RP chars: -Agórath (The blind one), The One who lights up the fireplace in Gallow's End Tavern.
Other characters: -Shagonar, My precious main -Random Forsaken (Dead One)
Enjoy and feel free to comment (for typos and opinions): ----
Shagonar and the Compass
Within the dark and hollow ruins of Lordaeron the memories and the whispers of the forgotten still haunt the lands. Burned and withered by the Plague a few years ago this bastion of humanity was destroyed… Its citizens fallen but not forgotten. Lordaeron… The last fortress turned into a blooming city of the Forsaken… The ones who are not dead or living… Their hideout… The Undercity.
In these hollow crypts and tunnels carved by the dead the ones who lived were prey to those who were driven mad by their recent demise. The ones who were saved by the icy iron grip of the Lich King but who could not stay sane.
Dark hooded figure was walking in the outer ring of the Undercity. Driven by a need to be there which he could not explain. All he could hear in these dark halls was the loud steps from his plate boots and echoes and cries of the dead. Torches scattered on the walls did not light these halls. So many shadows in every corner and he did not want to know what squished under his boots in every step.
He was disgusted of the smell of rot and wet stomach fluids that had conquered every inch of this place. The halls were full of it. The green river next to him was full of it. Somedays he wished that he was dead… The burning of the scar in his side was getting stronger everyday. He was dying. Somedays he felt scared to see the blood on the cloth he wiped his mouth after his coughing seizures. Dying… He had never really even thought about that. Somedays he had wished to be slain in the frozen wastelands of Alterac Valley or in any encounter. Just to be killed honorably in battle. How pitiful… Killed by a disease. Where was the honor in that?
Drifting in his thoughts the figure did not notice the growling of the mad driven undead swarming around him. He quickly counted five… Or even six walking carcasses. He cursed to himself to be surprised like this. Man in his position should know better.
Waiting… Tapping the hilt of his sword… Let them take the first step if they were foolish enough to disturb him.
One of the foul smelling carcasses touched his shoulder armor. Quick turn, unsheathing his sword and slashing upwards and that hand did never touch anything again. The carcass stood back shocked.
Figure took down the hood which had kept his appearance secret to those who walked beside him. Pale skinned, silver haired Sin’dorei wearing a black armor with a black tabard with a blood red insignia resembling an eagle on it. Those who had been sane and who would recognized that insignia would have turned and left. Too bad those carcasses were not neither. He was a Blood Knight. A warrior born of Silvermoon. Master of his order. He would give them their salvation if they were so eager to look for it from him. He grinned wickedly while lazily picking up his shield and getting ready to fight once more. This could be fun.
To his amazement one of the carcasses talked: -You are the one chosen by our Master…
Figure looked suspiciously at the one talking to him.
-Why do you disturb me Dead One? -We have been expecting you… -Expecting me? Explain.. -The one who commands us wants us to test you… -I am not here for your games Dead One. If you have something to say to me other than your cryptic gibberish I would advice you to leave.
Dead One looked at the figure and started to grin revealing a rotten black teeth. Figure felt only disgusted. Death had not been kind to these people.
-You are… Lord Shagonar Kiandarai from the Elven lands are you not?
Shagonar was surprised to be recognized. Some one had revealed that he was coming here. Another traitorous fools from the ranks? Who would know other than Lady Portilia through the tie between them. She would not betray him but then… Who could have it been?
-And what if I am?
-This is the one we have been keeping hidden for you Lord Kiandarai.
Dead One waved to one behind him. Waving him to come closer. The one who approached was apparently blind. Flesh stripped from his jaw. Bald and looked a bit clumsy… Wearing a old broom in his back. Carrying a old pillow with a old pouch on it.
Shagonar was waiting the blind one to come closer… He was not the most patient of men but that patience had saved his life so many times before.
The blind one offered the pillow to Shagonar who turned to look at the one handed Dead One.
-Open it for me. I shall not sheath my sword for something that might be a trap.
Dead One kept grinning while the blind looked confused. One handed came closer. Shagonar tightened his grip from the sword. Dead one picked up the pouch and opened it with his rotten teeth.
Shagonar looked surprised when he saw what was in the pouch… The Compass… The item that should have been thrown from the edge of the Outlands. Here… In Undercity… The reason he wielded the scar. The reason he almost got himself killed…. The reason he was going to die… Those fools who did not understand the potential behind the Compass were so eager to get rid of it when it could have been used to so much good. Carried by these foul beings.
Shagonar moved. Quick slash and the one handed Dead One would not never grin again. He started binding the strings of Light together. Light resisted like always but he had done this so many times. Every string that resisted were cut off hurting the source. It took a heartbeat and the wave from his shield struck the Blind One pushing him away to the river of green fluids.
Three others quickly turned and ran away…
Shagonar picked up the Compass from the ground and grinned. This was the reason he felt he was needed here. The solution to his salvation.
Shagonar looked up to the ones who were running away and grinned wickedly. No one must know that he had it… The hunt would be fun.
Figure pulled his hood and started to run… The halls of dying forsaken were engulfed by the halls… No one would care for a couple of rotting corpses laying around. This place were full of them.

| This was an excellent story and I really enjoyed reading it!
I am sad, somehow, that you have decided to kill Shagonar. Will he rise again as a deathknight? Will you keep playing him OOC?

| For a few days there was a possibility that Shag might have been rescued from the disease the Compass inflicted to him... But with the recent event with Portilia... Well let's just say that Shag has no hope or willingness for salvation. We know how badly women can hurt men. Shag will be around OOC for instance tanking and such. But have no fear. His death will not come any day soon although Shag IC would wish it. There is still so much to do. -Epic battle with Udd. -Show some manners to Sinarius. -Take down Dimmethion or work with him. ---- And now about the text itself: -What was bad? -What would you liked more? (painting the suroundings, people etc?) -Grammar? | |

| Ok, i read the whole thing and no immidiate grammar mistakes was spotted! Where are those, i wonder?
Then again, i'm not english either. Perhaps i'm blind for the same things as Shagonar. >_>
Take down Dimmethion or work with him? Hmmm....

| Noithing horribly wrong, as far as I could see. There's a few "a" when there should be "an", like "a old broom" should be "an old broom" etc. | |
