I highly recomend people use this site (www.wowwiki.com) to help come up with character concepts and ensure that they don't do things that are totally impossible in WoW.

Plus reading about the lore gives you better knowlege to RP with (knowing why belfs hate nelfs, who the hell Sylvanas is etc) and can make the game far more enjoyable.

Simple things like knowing what the Hell the Azshara zone is all about or why there is a Warsong BG has really made the game so much more fun OOC for me.

I played through the Warcraft RTS games -just- to learn the lore... Asin i even used cheats to get past the hard parts... One grunt to kill a WHOLE city ^^

But yeah... I'll have a looksie at a few things of interest.

Warcraft 3 is another good way to learn all the lore you need to for WoW, the game is really really cheap off the interweb and from what I've heardd it's easy. Or just cheat xD

Don't forget Warcraft two, there is alot of important information in there too, and it is a fun and quite easy game

Is best to go trough Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne to just know the story. Even with cheats. Then you will be extra happy when you will meet, say, Cainre or Rexxar, good old Thrall or whoever the heck else. And definately play Frozen Throne bonus mission - once of a lifetime chance to play with Chen Stormshout and Vol'Jin, and, of course, Rexxar himself. Also you can see Orgrimmar in Warcraft3 style, run trough Durotar, smash centaurs and have fun. In Frozen Throne you can also have fun with the current raid bosses Lady Vashj, Kael'Thas and, of course, Illidan. I love missions with heroes and limited amount of troops...

Yeah...

Warcraft 3 took 2 months to finish for my friend, by the way. It was the only game that was running on his computer back then. Unfortunately I could run WC3 only without sound

I would also like to remind people that just because you have read WoWwiki, doesn't mean your character has.

It really takes all the fun out of something when I say "Let's learn about the Black Dragonflight!" and someone just spews out all the information in the world about them, leaving us nothing to find out >.>
